Scams: Prepare Yourself sponsored by Fairfield County Bank Wednesday, May 20 – 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Don McGran, Security Advisor at Fairfield County Bank, will discuss the many current scams that are being employed against citizens in our area. Frauds can occur online, via telephone, in the mail, or in person. Many of these frauds are targeted at the elderly in our community. Recognition is the key to your protection. Don will give tips on how to recognize these scams and prevent falling prey to them. If you are a victim of a scam, Don will present you with the resources that are available to you. He will also discuss Identity Theft prevention and safe banking practices.

Don McGran is a 30-year veteran of the Ridgefield Police Department and graduate of Western Connecticut State University and the FBI National Academy. As Security Advisor at Fairfield County Bank for the past two years, Don is involved on a daily basis with advising customers and staff on the world of financial fraud.
