Take Your Child to the Library… the Rowayton Library… This Saturday
from 10am – 5pm
The
Rowayton Library will be participating in Take Your Child To The Library Day on
Saturday, February 2, along with 120 libraries in 12 states... with special
activities for families. This Saturday, the Rowayton Library will be open ALL
DAY from 10am - 5pm with events planned throughout the day. Kids (and adults) - come take a walk on the
"wild side" with a journey into Africa, your passport is your
library card (or if you don't have one, you can get one).
At 11am, our journey through
Sub Saharan Africa begins (a visual tour for kids): the beauty of this region
is that it has EVERYTHING: the wild jungles of the Congo to the oldest desert
in the world in Namibia to the teeming wildlife of Botswana and the majesty of
one of the 7 great natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. Learn
about the different animals and their environments in each.
Presenter: Darren Humphreys is Founder & CEO of Travel Sommelier, a
specialist travel company that focuses on travel to Africa. He grew up in South
Africa and has had the privilege of traveling extensively throughout Sub-Sharan
Africa to some of the most iconic destinations in the world. He is delighted to
be able to share that passion and knowledge with our next generation of
explorers.
