“The Art Forger,” by B.A. Shapiro has captured the interest of our community.  The Rowayton Library will be holding a book/art world discussion on May 10 at 12:30pm focusing on this novel.  This discussion/lunch will be hosted by the library with art world denizens Lynn Dacey (from the Frick Collection in NYC) and Robert Cestone (renowned painter from the Art Students League and Salmagundi) and a gourmet lunch will be served to the participants.  This program is free and open to the public.  Reservations are a must.  rsvp@rowayton.org or call 203-838-5038.

The Rowayton Library will hold its Fairy Yarn Mother’s program for young knitters… on Thursday, May 9 @ 3:30pm with NancyJo Rambusch for kids ages 8 & UP. This program is designed to help kid knitters of all skill levels work on their projects. As space is limited, please make a reservation. Bring your own needles and projects. First time students to our knitting program will be provided with a pair of knitting needles and yarn to start learning or working on a project. This program is free and open to the public. Haiku Contest Winners will be honored at Reception, Sunday, May 5 @ 1:30pm

      The 8th Annual Haiku Contest winners will be invited to read their Haiku at the Rowayton Library’s poetry reception on May 5 at 1:30 pm.  The community is invited to join us in this celebration and to acknowledge our local talent.  Award-winning poet, Vinni Marie D’Ambrosio (our Haiku contest judge) will introduce the poets.  Light refreshments will be served.   To see the winning haiku, visit haiku.rowayton.org.

The Last of this Season's Great Decisions Discussion Group... May 1 @ 7pm

The Rowayton Library will be hosting the last of this season's Great Decisions Discussion Group meetings on Wednesday, May 1 @ 7pm.  

The session will be on Threat Assessment.

Lets take a look at trees!

We see trees everywhere, especially here around the library.

Were you aware of the many jobs each tree does to help our environment every day? 

Did you know that for every rain storm that each tree protects thousands of gallons of runoff from entering Long Island Sound? 

Were you aware of how much wildlife is supported by each tree?

If you are a kid who is 8 or older, join Carol Giunta of the Rowayton Gardeners on a walk around the Rowayton Community Center to look at and maybe even learn how to identify some of our different trees. In the case of rain, we'll be inside looking at the parts of different trees.
